On-going Land Acquisitions Projects The Outdoor Alliance assists Story County Conservation, Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, local groups, companies and dedicated individual raise funds for new land acquisitions and related projects in Story County.
Most recently, the Outdoor Alliance supported the ongoing acquisition of 15 acres adjacent to Sleepy Hollow River Access and two other parcels along the South Skunk River near Story City. Previously, the Outdoor Alliance raised funds and contributed to Story County Conservation's Tedesco Environmental Learning Corridor, Carroll Prairie and Ronald "Dick" Jordan Wildlife Area. Story County Conservation is also currently working on other land acquisitions and raising the funds they need to acquire these parcels.
Land Owners Most land is privately held in Story County. Conservation. Easements, below market donations and helpful management practices can make a difference to water quality and quantity, creating additional habitat and other recreational opportunities.
Outdoor Alliance Endowment Fund With a charitable donation through our partner, the Story County Community Foundation, you have the opportunity to benefit Story County forever.
